A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
